Vision Ladakh 2047 Summit
A Shared Roadmap for a Sustainable Future
On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, the Sustainable Ladakh Initiative Foundation (SLIF) convened the Vision Ladakh 2047 Summit, bringing together government institutions, environmental experts, academia, civil society organizations, development partners, and sustainability leaders to collectively shape a long-term roadmap for Ladakh’s future.
The one-day summit served as a platform to launch the Vision Ladakh 2047 Summit Vision Framework, a collaborative blueprint aimed at transforming Ladakh into a globally recognized model of sustainable mountain development—one that is climate-resilient, water-secure, carbon-neutral, nature-positive, and economically inclusive.
Guiding Principles
The discussions throughout the summit were anchored around five key principles

Protecting Ladakh's fragile ecosystems while respecting environmental limits.
